Edwards needs to step it up: Demand impeachment

Sun Jan 06, 2008 at 06:25:48 PM PDT

This is my message in a bottle. I so hope that somebody in the Edwards camp gets this.

My message is this: Hear us. Demand impeachment now.

The most pressing reason is that there will be a pardonfest beyond compare in the coming year. A great many criminals of all stripes, big and small, will surely be pardoned for any and all unspecified crimes against us and humanity as a whole.

But the most justified reason is that it is a matter of Constitutional responsibility. This is more important than any B.S. "need to do the work of the people" or "need to make progress." Those arguments grow thinner with each veto.

WTF? Another Republican Gay? Murder? Suicide?

Mon Sep 10, 2007 at 08:59:42 PM PDT

By way of the General, who heard from Pam, who might of heard from Brad, or they all kind of knew it all along....

The Birmingham Sentinel reports yet another possible Republican gay murder suicide:

A Republican political consultant killed in an apparent double murder-suicide in Florida had worked extensively in Alabama politics including a controversial "Adam and Steve" campaign leaflet that parodied gay marriage.

Ralph Gonzalez, 39, president of The Strategum Group, was found dead Thursday along with his roommate, David Abrami, 36, and a friend, Robert Drake, 30, according to The Associated Press.

A motive has not been determined. Weapons and signs of a struggle were found in the house.

Drug testing whole cities: shotgun probable cause

Wed Aug 22, 2007 at 06:56:55 PM PDT

I was checking out slashdot, and found this reference to this one of the wingnuttiest ideas I've heard all year. And it's been quite a year! What's the best of all search warrants? A search warrant for drugs. The investigating authorities can go anywhere that is or was yours. And what is the best kind of probability for "probable cause" ? Mathematical probability.

So what is the mathematical probability that you or your house is a source of illegal drugs?

Gestapoization: Why Congress MUST ACT! w/poll

Wed Mar 21, 2007 at 04:58:37 PM PDT

I took a stop by the frameshopto see what's up with the buzzwords. We need a buzzword of our own. Plant the seed in the nation's mind. Why shouldn't Bush get to have privacy within his office when he does his job? Why is it important for Congress to oversee the operations of the executive branch? If these two values conflict, which should win, under what circumstances, and why?

I buried this in a thank you to Brad Miller. And he should be thanked! Because Congress needs to get busy or the idea of using agencies as a political hammer on us all will be legitimized.

Talabani joins coalition of the leaving

Sun Feb 25, 2007 at 07:19:52 PM PDT

Fatigue and exhaustion seems to have overcome the President of Iraq.

Nothing to worry about here, folks!

It's not a heart attack.

Now that George has made the English Army go home, the ranks of the coalition of the leaving continue to swell.

I found this over at CNN. Maybe the rest of this manufactured government won't be able to out last the occupation.

Hiding the war dead should be outlawed by Congress

Wed Jan 31, 2007 at 06:25:33 PM PDT

I believe that if a person has volunteered to serve in the armed forces of this country, fought, and died, that person has indeed led a meaningful life. The meaninglessness of the war is completely apart and separate from the decision to serve and sacrifice. The homecoming of the deceased should be holy, even if nothing else is. The welcome is earned. Mourners and the deceased deserve the public light of day, and a moment of peace.

Does Bush have a Naziesque personal South American exit strategy?

Thu Oct 19, 2006 at 08:59:40 PM PDT

Does anybody here read the rumor mongering Wonkette?

In a nutshell, the gyst of the blurb is that the Bush family has bought about 986,000 acres in Paraguay. This is next to a semi-secret US military airbase, and on top of one of the world's richest aquifers. There is certainly the appearance of a heckuva Presidential retirement villa in the making here. Any member of the White House Press Corps who has ever covered Crawford is well aware of the Preznitchul penchant for hot weather.

It goes on: the Reverend Sun Myong Moon is a neighbor, with 1.47 million acres.

A Video Visit to the New Hitler Shrine

Wed Jun 14, 2006 at 04:42:53 PM PDT

Let me get a few things outta the way now: this sucks. And yeah, I've heard of that Nordic Fest in Kentucky. That totally sucks. Don't read anything into my handle. I'm not a fascist. Those guys are walking, talking human excrement. Kids should not click on that link, and I'm on the fence about not cleaning it out of here. There are good arguments for either way for filthing up a diary and this site with these links or not. Yes, I'm quite uncomfortable, now.

But apathy is the pavement on the road to fascism. Therefore this diary. I hope you don't like the news.

Hill Staffer Attacked, FBI called

Tue Nov 08, 2005 at 09:07:41 AM PDT

An article at The Hill reports:
The FBI and Capitol Police are investigating the vicious attack of a top Senate staffer at her home last week amid concerns that the assault might be related to her work on the Finance Committee.

Emilia DiSanto, chief investigator for committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), arrived at her suburban Virginia home after work Wednesday about 6:30 p.m. As she was unloading belongings from her car, a 6-foot-1-inch white man dressed in black struck her repeatedly with an unidentified object believed to be a baseball bat.

After she screamed to her family inside the house, the assailant fled. DiSanto was transported to Inova Fair Oaks Hospital, where she was treated for significant upper-body injuries. Nine staples were needed to close her head wound.

DiSanto, who declined to comment, has reported back to work.

No, Carnacki! This is the shittiest diary ever

Mon Oct 03, 2005 at 09:10:49 AM PDT

Oh yeah, Carnacki? How `bout this?
Being a dad, I found Carnack's diary to be sweet and cute. He found himself in a pretty bad situation for entirely innocent reasons. That hardly describes the nature of our situation.

I thought that you might find this interesting, or maybe more long than it is interesting, or maybe more disgusting than it is long. All that having been said, it goes without saying that I'm a bad person for having written it, but you are a worse one for reading any more of it.

AN IMPEACHMENT TRIAL BY LABOR DAY should be on the table

Fri Sep 02, 2005 at 08:07:50 AM PDT

NOW is the time to push phone calls, and to ask every house rep where do they stand on the Bush impeachment by Monday? People are dying now. Congressional staffers leave the office today. If you already gave or can't give now, at least give some heat. If you're not mad as hell now, when will you be?

My god, if he turns a relief convoy into his own personal showboat.....
