You’ve seen their commercials and struggled to keep their jingle out of your head. Now try not to throw up when you learn that retail giant Wayfair has sold over $200,000 worth of beds and other furniture to go into Trump’s concentration camps. The company’s employees are demanding that Wayfair donate its profits to RAICES, and over 550 of them signed a petition to that effect.

Employees are now calling on Wayfair to donate profits from the sale — estimated to be about $86,000 — to Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES), a Texas-based non-profit that provides legal services to immigrants.
“At the very least, we do not want to profit off these sales,” the employee said. “Additionally, we want to make sure that we have a system in place to prevent anything like this happening again.”
In what will be a shocking development, I’m sure, the billionaire owners of Wayfair are refusing, and are happy to stuff the profits from exploiting human suffering into their own pockets.
The company’s leadership team responded on Monday, saying they would move forward with the order. Representatives for Wayfair did not respond to calls and emails seeking comment.
“As a retailer, it is standard practice to fulfill orders for all customers and we believe it is our business to sell to any customer who is acting within the laws of the countries in which we operate," they wrote, according to a copy of the letter obtained by The Washington Post. "Your fellow employees hold a wide range of opinions and perspectives and Wayfair, as a mass-market brand, is oriented to serve a broad and diverse customer base.”
On the one hand, it’s good that beds are being delivered to these camps that should not even exist, so the families and children who are locked up inside them don’t have to sleep on the floor. On the other hand, profiting from this crime against humanity is morally reprehensible.
We need to apply very loud, very public pressure on this company to do the right thing, and refuse to pocket any profits from this immoral, inhumane, indefensible detention of our fellow human beings.
